Doctorate Title: An Exploration of Transition to Practice Experiences of Newly Qualified Paramedics Following Graduation from a Full-Time University Degree Programme.

Doctorate Description: This study will use qualitative interviews to investigate the transition to practice experiences of Newly Qualified Paramedics (NQPs) who are transitioning to professional practice following graduation from a university bachelor of science degree.

Transition to practice can be a challenging time for new graduates across all disciplines and has been widely studied in other healthcare fields. However, a paucity of literature exists relating to the transition experiences of new graduate paramedics.

This study aims to explore the transition to practice experiences of NQPs through in-depth, semi-structured interviews with NQPs. Interviews will be undertaken in three phases, during the NQPs first two years of professional practice.
