Doctorate Title: Investigation of the Relationship Between Sense of Coherence, Health Behavior, and Mental Health Status Among Emergency Care Professionals.
Doctorate Description: The aim of this research is to conduct a comprehensive examination of the mental health status of professionals working in emergency care, with a particular focus on the interrelations between sense of coherence, health- and risk-related behaviors, and overall health status. The study also places special emphasis on exploring how work-related factors, sociodemographic characteristics, environmental influences, and health-related attitudes interact and affect work performance. The analysis pays special attention to the associations between distress, depression, and burnout syndrome and the presence of mental and psychosomatic disorders in the study population. Another key objective is to compare the aforementioned characteristics across different emergency care settings with the latest findings from both Hungarian and international literature. Finally, the study aims to compare the questionnaire-based findings with participants’ current stress levels and chronic stress exposure, measured via cortisol levels from saliva and hair samples collected during work and leisure activities.
