Doctorate Title: Exploring the Education and Training Needs of Paramedics for the Management of Low-acuity Clinical Conditions.

Doctorate Description: The proportion of low acuity clinical conditions presenting to ambulance services worldwide is increasing. Compared to life-threatening and emergency presentations, education and training in lower acuity and primary care conditions that paramedics are being frequently called upon to assess and manage is limited. The aim of this research is to explore the low acuity education and training needs of paramedics including a review of the current education and training landscape, as well as the perceived factors, barriers, and enablers that influence low acuity clinical practice and decision-making. It is intended that this research will inform the future development of paramedic education, training, and clinical practice across the ambulance service and the university sectors.
